Korean Medicine Policy Training Program is training program hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Republic of Korea, and organized by National Institute for Korean Medicine Development (NIKOM) and The Society of Korean Medicine(SKOM).
In this program, we invite policymakers from various countries to learn about Korean Medicine, notably Korean Medicine health care service, health insurance system, medicinal herbs, and treatments.

The public health and welfare organizations in advanced nations have taken pains to deal with the higher medical expenses impacted by aging population and the exponetially increased chronic diseases. Responding to these key challenges directly affecting public life, the world is keen to research the different forms of traditional medicine and the complementary medicine around the world.

Korean Medicine is a whole medical system which has been developed over thousands of years and greatly contributed to disease treatment and health promotion in Korea. In fact, it is legislatively equal with Western Medicine in the Korean public health and welfare system. Traditional Korean Medicine has been fully modernized for its education system, and it has similar medical license system with Western Medicine in Korea. This is ideal for the case study on how integrative medicine complements Western Medicine effectively and comprehensively.

To introduce Korean Medicine as one of successful traditional/integrative medicine to complement Western Medicine.
To develop a future cooperation for traditional/integrative medicine with the participating countries.
